NATE Certification: The Logo You Can Trust for HVAC Expertise
Do you feel confident that your heating and cooling technician is qualified to work on your valuable equipment?
As a homeowner and consumer you can have increased peace of mind when it comes to your heating and cooling service by hiring a service professional that uses North American Technician Excellence (NATE) certified technicians. Here’s a look at what NATE certification is, and how it can affect the quality of HVAC service you receive.
NATE sets the standard high
NATE is the largest non-profit organization in the U.S., governed by HVAC/R industry experts, that tests and certifies technicians based on their mastering of skills in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration. NATE’s goal is to raise the bar for superior services and excellence. Using a NATE- certified technician is a step above the rest.
NATE demands superior knowledge
To earn a NATE certification, a technician must test in the specialty area (or areas) of his or her choosing. Each rigorous test is developed by a panel of industry experts to challenge a technician’s knowledge and understanding of system components, installation requirements and service expectations. NATE certifications may remain valid for three to five years, depending on the specialty area. Upon expiration, technicians must either pass the challenging exam again, or submit proof of at least 60 hours of continuing education.
